Summary: Robbie convinces his small circle of friends to go to the Rugby Sevens.

Robbie spluttered and slammed his drink down on the table dramatically. Instead of the stream of invectives that they'd all expected though, he just sighed loudly and said, “They were robbed!”

“Ah,” murmured Nita, touching his shoulder. “You might want to keep your voice down. I don't think that group of huge Samoan guys heard you that time.”

“Yeah, I’d like to forgo the emergency room one night this week,” said Vance good-naturedly. “They remember me by name now.” He shook his head, his brown hair falling forward over his head to cover the black eye with a single stitch through a cut over his eyebrow.

Angel ruffled his hair. “At least I get to nurse you back to health, afterwards, at the motel...” She sipped her beer, expression innocent as he choked on his drink.

“Is that what you called it?” said Nita, dryly. “Nurrrrrrsing. I'll have to remember that for future reference.”

“Hey, Nita, if I get beaten up tonight, will you nurse me?” Rich waggled his eyebrows at her and she slapped him lightly.

“In your dreams. Don’t make me spank you, Rider.”

He grinned at her. “Promises, promises.”

“It's hard to believe that two months ago, we didn't even know each other,” said Angel, her arm lying on the table, resting against Vance's arm. “I don't even like sports but I do like dressing up and watching men run around in shorts.”

“But I didn't expect to be dressed in a bikini for two days,” said Nita. “

“Neither did I,” said Vance with a grimace. “You didn't mention that on Facebook, Robbie. I think it should be noted that I was misled.”

"It was only the top half, stop whining already," said Rich.

Angel laughed, “Oh baby! You looked so fine on the big screen.”

“So did you, but that's not the point.”

With a blush, Robbie made an awkward nod in Rich's direction. “It wasn't my idea!” he whispered behind a hand.

“Oh, that I believe,” she muttered dryly, smacking Rich in the head.

“HEY!” he growled, “What the hell? It was worth it.”

Someone bellowed distantly from the bar. “THIS ROUND'S ON ME!!”

“Sweet!” said Robbie, jumping up.

“Not you, junior, unless it's a soda.” Nita pointed a finger at him, “Remember, the only reason your parents let you come on this adventure was because I, the graduate student and most responsible person in this group, made heavy promises that you would not come home drunk, married or with a tattoo. I think they think Wellington is Las Vegas or something... And that's why we're in the family restaurant instead of the bar.”

He sat down, disappointed, and slumped forward over his arms, hiding his face. “God. This day couldn't suck any worse!” he mumbled.

“I'll be back in a minute,” said Nita. “What's everyone drinking?”

“Coke,” replied Robbie morosely. “With a side of arsenic to put me out of my misery.”

She made a noise and rubbed her fingers together.

“What's that?”

“World's tiniest violin, you prima donna.”

“It's only a football game,” said Angel, trying to reassure him. “It's not the end of the world.”

“Only a football game? It's Rugby Sevens!” he bellowed.
